INDIVIDUALS

ANNUAL CHECK‐UP PANEL

The Annual CheckUp Panel contains the following tests at one low price!

  1. Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  2. Cholesterol Lipid with Ratio (Lipids Panel)
  3. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
  4. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)
  5. Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1C)

PRICE: $99.00

The Annual CheckUp is the perfect panel for evaluating your overall health. The panel consists of 6 tests that are typically ordered by a physician during an annual physical examination.

Most important, this is a good panel to establish your “baseline.” Your baseline consists of all the numeric test results (levels) including your blood counts, kidney function, liver function, electrolytes, total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and thyroid function values. By knowing these levels, you can begin to manage your own health to see if they fluctuate over time.

With the Annual CheckUp, you’ll get a good look at your overall health through a variety of tests including:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) – tests for blood disorders such as leukemia, anemia, and blood clotting.
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) – gives information about electrolytes, kidney and liver functions.
  • Lipid Panel – analyzes your cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL and HDL levels. Results are used to determine your risk for coronary artery disease or stroke.
  • TSH – analyzes thyroid function and signs of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.
  • Hemoglobin A1c– The A1c test evaluates the average amount of glucose in the blood over the last 2 to 3 months.

You may look like you’re in good health, but how does the inside of your body look?

Get a healthy dose of information and find out today with an Annual CheckUp from Secure Health Partners.

LIVER FUNCTION PANEL (HEPATIC FUNCTION)

Why should I get a liver function panel?

If you are experiencing abdominal aches, yellow skin or eyes, joint pain, skin spots, confusion and/or muscle wasting, these could be signs of liver function issues.

WHAT LAB TESTS ARE IN THE LIVER FUNCTION, OR HEPATIC FUNCTION PANEL?

This Liver Function Panel (Hepatic Function) includes the following tests:

  1. Total Protein
  2. Albumin
  3. Total Bilirubin
  4. Direct Bilirubin
  5. Alkaline Phosphatase
  6. AST
  7. ALT

AM I REQUIRED TO FAST FOR THIS LAB TEST?

No.

WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR THE HEPATIC FUNCTION PANEL?

$39.00

DESCRIPTION:

The Liver Function Panel (Hepatic Function) measures the blood levels of seven tests that you may want to check to see how well your liver is working. Your doctor may order it if you’re suffering from symptoms related to liver disease or if you regularly take medicine, which can affect the liver. This test is also recommended if you’ve been exposed to a Hepatitis A, B, or C virus.

WHY DO I NEED IT?

High or low levels in one of the seven tests in the Liver Function Panel (Hepatic Function) may indicate that liver damage or liver disease is present.

If you’re taking medicine or if you’ve been exposed to hepatitis, this test is typically recommended by your physician.

WHAT TYPE OF PHYSICIAN SHOULD I SEE IF MY TEST RESULTS ARE ABNORMAL OR OUT OF RANGE?

You should take your results to your primary care physician.

Lipid Panel

1. Total Cholesterol

2. HDL

3. LDL

4. HDL/LDL Ratio

5. Triglycerides

WHY DO I NEED TO HAVE MY CHOLESTEROL TESTED?

Is your heart healthy?

Measuring your Total Cholesterol and other levels is one method to detect whether you’re at risk for heart or coronary artery diseases, among others.

AM I REQUIRED TO FAST FOR THIS LAB TEST?

Yes. You must fast at least eight (8) hours prior to having your specimen collected.

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF A LIPID PANEL?

$39.00

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY LAB TEST RESULTS?

Test results generally take between 24 to 72 business hours after your specimen is collected.

WHAT IS A LIPID PANEL FOR?

Lipids Panel can determine if you have abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels. These are important because they can also help you and your doctor determine if you’re at risk for heart disease or other coronary (heart) illnesses.

Cholesterol is fat that is produced by the liver. It can also be obtained from foods like cheeseburgers, pizza, etc. There are two kinds of cholesterol – the good and the bad.

1. High Density Lipoproteins (HDL) = Good cholesterol.

2. Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL) = Bad cholesterol.

Basically, you want a high HDL and a low LDL (see below for optimal results).

The Lipid Panel is a great panel to establish a “baseline” (an initial reading or level of results) and continuously monitor over time to ensure healthy results and take necessary action in elevated levels.

When all these tests are evaluated together, your physician can determine if you would benefit from a cholesterol maintenance medication. If you’re already taking cholesterol medication, your doctor may require a more detailed test from Secure Health Partners such as the Cholesterol Medication Maintenance Panel before a refill can be completed.

WHAT IF MY LAB TEST RESULTS ARE ABNORMAL OR OUT OF RANGE?

When you have elevated levels of these tests you should see your primary care physician. If your physician feels that you would benefit from a specialist, he/she may refer you to a cardiologist.

• CBC with Differential

• White blood cell count.

• White blood cell differential.

• Red blood cell count.

• Red blood cell density.

• Hemoglobin levels.

• Blood platelet count.

WHY DO I NEED A CBC?

Knowing your CBC can provide you and your doctor with vital health information. You should consider taking a CBC if you:

• Feel fatigued.

• Think you have an infection.

• Experience difficulty recovering from infection or injury.

• Experience excessive bleeding or blood clot formation.

Having a CBC is also a good idea if you have a personal or family history of inflammation, bruising, blood disorders or leukemia.

Contact your primary care physician. He or she will determine if you need to see a hematologist.

DESCRIPTION:

Vitamin B-12, also called cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays a key role in the formation of blood (red blood cells and white blood cells), normal functioning of the brain and nervous system. Vitamin B-12 is one of the eight B vitamins, and it is involved in the metabolism of every cell in the human body.

Vitamin B-12 functions as a cofactor for methionine synthesis and L-methyl malonyl-CoA mutase. Vitamin B-12 is bound to protein in food, commonly found in fish, shellfish, meat, eggs and dairy products. The Vitamin B-12 is then released in the stomach by hydrochloric acid during digestion. Vitamin B-12 is then coupled with a component in the stomach called intrinsic factors (IF) before it is released and absorbed into the bloodstream at within the small intestine.
